NYP LIBRARY RE-DESIGN
we are entrusted with the task of designing our school library, The selection of colour and the design of furniture played a pivotal role in bringing this project into fruition, aiming to seamlessly unite the entire design into a cohesive and inviting space.
THE CONCEPT: BEE HIVE
we drew inspiration from the industrious world of bees, casting ourselves as diligent worker bees within our hive of knowledge. Each distinct area within the library takes on the role of a different part of the hive, and we've incorporated unique colour coding to enhance the user experience, making it both easy and enjoyable to navigate.
SMALL DETAILS
To ensure the design's cohesiveness, attention to the finer details surrounding the library was thought through. I've struck a delicate balance between sharp and rounded edges, lending a harmonious feel to the space.
The shelves draw inspiration from the hexagonal shapes found in beehives, adding a touch of organic symmetry to the environment.
In areas where frequent contact may occur, I've incorporated chamfered edges to both enhance safety and contribute to the tactile experience of the space. To add more organic feeling i added decorative and accent lighting to create a sense of claim, relaxation and to soften the edges
